Lunch hour...

Why do office ladies have a habit of putting tissue papers to reserve their seats during lunch hour? I personally find it ridiculous and it is suppose to be free sitting in food courts. I was listening to a Radio Station last Thursday and i think it is a good idea the radio DJs wanting to start a campaign to stop this people from treating this habits like it is acceptable.... If i see any tissue papers lying around on tables i will push them aside or even use it...

Raya Curtain

Raya curtain design for 2009!! Textile designed by a Swedish designer Anna Salander . I chose this to blend with the trees and leaves outside our flat. I never knew the cost to customize a curtain in Ikea was reasonable. My mum actually voluntered to sew. So sweet of her. Can't wait to hang it!! Our theme this year will be black & white with a splash of apple green. Dah lama dah tunggu. Planning ni dari raya tahun lepas. I am constantly giving my 101% when it comes to my home decor. But of course, keeping with our budget. How i wish i can do the same for my weight... Source: http://www.annasalander.com/oopssanden3.html
Raya is around the corner! This will be our 2nd year celebrating in our home. Me and hubby went ingredients shopping last week. It's for our experiment on raya cakes and cookies. Our 1st cake was Rich Chocolate Brownie . We took it from the book my hubby gave to me for our 1st Wedding Anniversary . I took it to work for colleagues to taste it. 1 of my teammates is a Chinese guy who couldn't wait for the rest till iftar. He ate it... The comment he gave me was, 'Next time you bake the whole cake and let me bring home.' So...sedaplah tu...kekekeke! (hai aku ni..duduk dalam bakul pikul sendiri...wakaka...) I'm so proud of my hubby. This would not be possible without him. So this coming Sunday, it's gonna be cookies. With tones of things to do. Hope we'll make it.

Gastroenteritis

My baby SaraFalisha is down with gastric flu..I am now trying my very best to reduce her temperature. Gastroenteritis (also known as gastro , gastric flu , tummy bug in the United Kingdom, and stomach flu, although unrelated to influenza) is inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, involving both the stomach and the small intestine (see also gastritis and enteritis) and resulting in acute diarrhea. The inflammation is caused most often by an infection from certain viruses or less often by bacteria, their toxins, parasites, or an adverse reaction to something in the diet or medication. Worldwide, inadequate treatment of gastroenteritis kills 5 to 8 million people per year, and is a leading cause of death among infants and children under 5. At least 50% of cases of gastroenteritis due to foodborne illness are caused by norovirus. Another 20% of cases, and the majority of severe cases in children, are due to rotavirus. Other significant viral agents include adenovirus and astrovirus

My 18 months 3 weeks Toddler.

Your 18-month-old's language and cognitive development: Speaking loud and clear New this month: Speaking loud and clear At a year and a half, most children speak a dozen words (or more) clearly. Besides "Mama" and "Dada," favorite words include "bye-bye," "milk," "cookie," "car," "oh!," and "my." Many 18-month-old toddlers can also link two words together to form rudimentary sentences — sentences without linking verbs or other connecting words. She may say "All gone," "Want ball," or "Me up." Your 18-month-old probably still does a lot of babbling in imitation of the adult conversations she hears. With increasing frequency, though, you'll hear clear words in the midst of the chattering. (If your child can't say at least two words by now, be sure to mention it to her caregiver at her next well-child visit; your caregiver may wish to test her hearing or have a speech

Fatigue Fix: Reduce Caffeine

Most of us are in need of a jolt of energy reach for a stimulant. Whether we're getting our fix from an espresso maker, a teapot, or a vending machine, caffeine is the drug of choice for people who need to feel fired up fast. Caffeine boosts energy by stimulating the central nervous system and increasing the heart rate and blood pressure. But this pick-me-up can also let you down. Sensitive people tend to feel jittery and anxious, not jazzed, after a cup of coffee or a can of soda. Caffeine can also sabotage your sleep, setting up a bad pattern: use caffeine, sleep poorly, need more caffeine the next day to compensate. For some people, caffeine is addictive; the slump you feel when its effects wear off compels you to consume more -- turning it into a crutch. The Fix The obvious solution to a dependency on caffeine is to consume less of it. But as anyone who has tried to go cold turkey knows, withdrawal symptoms like throbbing headaches, nervousness, irritability, and fatigue are no

Cheddar and Onion Mashed Potatoes Recipe

2 pounds potatoes (russets or yukon golds) 1/2 cup half-and-half 3 tablespoons butter 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 4 green onions, thinly sliced salt and pepper Peel the potatoes and cut them in four pieces. Put the potatoes in a pot and cover them with cold water. Add some salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let them simmer for a good 15 minutes. Drain the potatoes. Return them on heat for a while so all the water goes away. Add half milk half cream mix, butter, salt, and pepper. Now its time to mash the potatoes. Stir in cheddar cheese and cook your mashed potatoes for a few minutes so the cheese melts. At the end mix in sliced green onions. Or thinly slice the onions and then fry them for a while on oil of butter. Then just mix them in at the end.

Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes Recipe

4 pounds potatoes 1/3 cup heavy cream 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 cup buttermilk salt and pepper Peel the potatoes and then cut each on into 4 pieces. If the potato is really big you can make it 6. If you make your pieces smaller the potatoes will cook faster but they will also absorb more water. And we don’t want that. Put the potatoes into a large pot, cover them with cold water and add salt. Turn on your stove to the max and bring potatoes to a boil. When they start boiling reduce heat and let them simmer. Potatoes should be cooked in 15 to 20 minutes, try sticking a fork into the biggest potato piece and if it goes in softly they are done. Drain the potatoes and put them back on low heat. This will evaporate most of the water and your mashed potatoes will taste better. Just be careful not to burn them. Heat cream and butter in a small saucepan so that the butter melts. Or you can just throw the butter into the potatoes, but make sure the cream and buttermilk are warm. Adding

Healthy Mashed Potatoes Recipe

1 1/2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold, Russtes) 5 Tbsp milk 2 Tbsp butter 1/2 teaspoon salt Salt and Pepper So we can really call this recipe healthy, we kicked out the cream and replaced it with milk. Cream has more fat which is bad for you (if you eat to much of it of course). It is also nice to hold back on the salt if you want to avoid some of the problems that to much salt brings (like high blood pressure). Peel the potatoes and cut them into big pieces. Big pieces absorb less water than small potato pieces. More water - watery potatoes with less taste. Cover them with cold water, add salt, and bring them to boil and then simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. How do you know potatoes are cooked? They must be soft if you sick a knife or a fork in the fattest potato in the pan. Drain the potatoes and then put them back on low heat. This will make all the water evaporate and potatoes will taste better - less water - more taste. Heat the milk and add it together with butter. Also add some salt and pe
